HEALING TESTIMONIES

THIS TESTIMONY IS FROM MAN I NEVER MET IN PERSON BUT PRAYED FOR OVER THE PHONE. I ASKED HIM TO WRITE THE STORY IN HIS OWN WORDS.

"I think I've been through some of this, but it bears repeating, no matter what I said, because it's a complex matter. When I was a teenager, I fell ill with a severe case of osteomyelitis, an infection of the bone that attacked and destroyed my hip joint (this was the anniversary year, I just remembered a little while ago: I got sick Christmas 1977, as a 14-year-old). When a hip is destroyed in that way, the course of action is usually clear. An active teenager will wear out an artificial hip, so what they do instead is an "ankylosis." They take the ruined joint and fuse it to the nearest large bone. In this case, the surgeon attached the femur to the pelvis, put me in a full body cast, and over a period of months, the two bones fused to become one mega-bone. It's quite a sight on an X-ray. The femur has vanished beneath bone that looks like a lava flow.

It worried me for years, but it's actually a good solution. You lose that one big joint, but literally hundreds of other joints and muscles and ligament compensate. Instead of moving your hip, you move your back and shoulders and neck and knee and ankles, etc etc etc, and it both makes up for the lost motion and distributes the stress.

BUT, about every five years or so, one key link in the chain starts to hurt. It either gets injured, or just starts to object--that is, to hurt, often badly. It happened to the left knee in 2007, my back in about 2011, then I went a long time without trouble--and then developed serious trouble. The pain was a little mysterious: I've been calling it pain in my hip, but that's just a label. Think of it as the area of the hip (it's not the original infection returning. That, actually, they could have taken care of). It went on and on and ON. If it had kept going, the first week of April would have marked the two year anniversary since it started hurting. The doctors had no real diagnosis, except "neuropathic pain," meaning what an ordinary person would just call "nerve pain."

I knew it couldn't go on forever--but after nearly two years, it was starting to drive me berserk. It was fading just a little. I think that's why I thought prayer was the proper approach. I have never believed that prayer will help when you have no hope, or you just kind of want a little favor from God, like asking God to pay a parking ticket. You might say that my heart was open.

And there's not much to say. That's when you intervened. When you prayed over it, the pain started to fade, at last, decisively, the kind of turn that I'd experienced in the past and had been looking for for that whole two years. Maybe four days later, the pain disappeared. It's not gone entirely--stress will bring it back (when i had the migraine, for instance, it started hurting and adding to the general misery). But it doesn't stay long, and I really believe I've finally turned the corner.

So there you go. Chalk that up as a victory for you (with some help)."

THIS TESTIMONY IS FROM A FRIEND OF MINE WHO LIVED IN SEATTLE WASHINGTON AT THE TIME. HE WAS SCHEDULED FOR HIP REPLACEMENT SURGERY. I TOLD HIM ABOUT HOW MY HUSBAND AND I HAD BEEN PRACTICING HEALING ON PEOPLE (ALL DUE TO JESUS CHRIST'S FINISHED WORK ON THE CROSS ETC. AND ASKED IF I COULD PRACTICE ON HIM. HE SAID YES BUT HE DID NOT HAVE FAITH FOR A NEW HIP. HE WENT ON TO SAY HE DID HOWEVER BELIEVE THE LORD WOULD GET HIM OUT OF PAIN. I KNEW HE WAS ALMOST READY TO RETIRE FROM WORKING AS A TRAIN CONDUCTOR FOR MANY YEARS. I KNEW HE HAD TO CONTINUE WORKING UNTIL HIS SURGERY WAS SCHEDULED. HE EXPLAINED HOW EXCRUCIATING IT WAS FOR HIM TO CLIMB THE THREE FLIGHTS OF STAIRS TO HIS APARTMENT. THROUGH THE YEARS I'VE COME TO BELIEVE IN MY HEART THAT PAIN IS AN ENEMY THAT THE LORD HAS ALREADY PAID FOR ON THE CROSS AND THAT WE DO NOT HAVE TO BEAR THE TORTURE THAT COMES WITH PAIN.  I'VE SEEN THE LORD DELIVER PEOPLE FROM PAIN MANY MANY TIMES. IN THIS INSTANCE MY FRIEND WAS ABLE TO WORK AND CLIMB THE STEPS TO HIS LIVING QUARTERS AND FUNCTION NORMALLY UNTIL HIS SURGERY. AFTER THE SURGERY HIS SURGEON SHOWED HIM THE PICTURE OF HIS HIP. IT LITERALLY FELL APART AS IT WAS BEING REMOVED. THE SURGEON WAS AMAZED THAT MY FRIEND HAD NO PAIN BECAUSE THE CARTILAGE THAT SERVES AS A BUFFER TO KEEP THE BONE FROM ON THE SOCKET WAS COMPLETELY ERODED.

kata prayed 4 my right knee. I had tremendous pain fm a break in top bone on top of knee. she prayed and I saw bright blood oozing in2 large blood arteries...( in my mind). I have no pain now... just the inconvenience of the brace. praise God and yesua.

DURING THAT SAME TIME HE TWISTED HIS ANCLE AND EXPERIENCED TREMENDOUS SWELLING AND PAIN IN THE AREA SO WE WENT TO THE LORD AGAIN AND HER IS WHAT HE WROTE ABOUT THAT:

kata billups prayed 4 my ankle. we looked 2 jesus 4 my ankle healing. b-4 kata prayed it was swollen like a ballon and felt like the ankle joint was cracked. 2-day 15 jaunuray i saw an ankle-foot specailist and he said sprain only. i can put weight on it 2-day. yesterday i could put no weight on it. no cast only a boot... it is feeling so much better and swelling is much decreased. i can drive and feel mentally free and blessed. in christ, praise the lord.

AFTER HE HAD SURGERY HE WROTE:

the surgeon took a photo of the hip that he cut out of my body. it is amazing and i would like 2 send it 2 u if u feel u can stand the blood ... pls let me know... it is bloody but not gross let me know if want me 2 send u a copy of the photos. the surgeon said he did not know how i walked w/o tremendous pain and was amazed at the damage. the miracle of your prayers, dear kata, is that i could walk at all and cont. 2 work... it is a miracle. and although we did not get a perfect healing at least i still walked and worked. luv 2 a beauty. have a blast.
